Do you want to watch Hulu with Live TV outside of the US? We’ll be honest with you. You probably shouldn’t.
Streaming services are meant to make our watching experience better, and while Hulu with Live TV is better than a standard TV subscription, TV channels are filled with ads and don’t show you what you want at a given time. Oh, and Hulu with Live TV starts at $44.99, and that’s not including any premium packages such as HBO.
For that money, you could get a Canadian DAZN subscription to watch some of the best live sports outside of the US on the internet, or you can get ESPN+ for just $4.99. (Yes, we have guides about how to set up DAZN and ESPN+ outside of the US on our blog.)
Still, want to watch Hulu with Live TV outside of the US? That’s cool with us. We’ll walk you through how to do it in 3-steps.
Hulu needs to think that you are in the US at all times.
You also need to have a constantly stable connection so that you can watch Hulu with Live TV outside of the US, smoothly.
Firstly, to change your location to be in the US, you need to use a VPN.
VPN services allow you to change your location virtually.
You’ll need to connect to an American server.
That server needs to support Hulu though.
Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as connecting to an American server, and that’s simply because services like Hulu prevent VPN services from working. That’s because they have to as otherwise, they are showing people content in countries where they don’t have the right to show content as they didn’t pay for rights for regions outside of the US.
PrivateVPN? It works with Hulu just like it works with BBC iPlayer, DAZN, and many other services that you can read about on our blog.
When it comes to watching Hulu with Live TV outside of the US, speed is crucial.
At PrivateVPN you won’t see thousands of servers like on a lot of other providers. We believe in quality over quantity. That’s why we support the most Netflix regions on the market even though we have under 200 servers. As far as speed? Just test it out for yourself. We offer a risk-free trial that doesn’t require a card, and frankly, it’s the quickest trial you will ever sign up for.
Just provide your email and password, and you are good to go. After that, you can get it for as little as $3.82 per month.
This is the hardest part of this guide, depending on where you live.
See, if you want to create a Hulu account, you need an American card.
Don’t panic, though!
Firstly, try your card.
Some non-American cards do work with Hulu just like they work with ESPN+.
If you live in Europe or the likes of Australia, Canada, or Singapore, Revolut is an online bank that we tested with Hulu, and at least for now, both the premium, metal and virtual cards from Revolut work with Hulu and ESPN+.
The great advantage of Revolut is that it’s safe and very quick to sign up on. You’ll be ready to get started with Hulu in a few minutes.
And no, PrivateVPN isn’t in any means affiliated with Revolut. We do care about helping you unblock entertainment services such as Hulu with Live TV outside of the US though, and that means we need to talk about everything.
With PrivateVPN and a Hulu account, you are ready to go. Except, you might also want to know how to get the Hulu app which isn’t going to be available in your app store right away.
Whatever you do, MAKE SURE NOT TO CHANGE YOUR REGION ON YOUR CURRENT ACCOUNT. If you do so, you will lose everything.
You can always sign back into your old account after you download Hulu, and Hulu will still be there.
Be aware that this change might take up to 48 hours to update, but tends to happen right away after you restart the Google Play Store app.
Alternatively, search for Hulu.apk on Google and download it. Just make sure you download it from a trusted source.
...Or just watch from the web browser by pressing on the 3 dots on the top-right of the screen and pressing on “Desktop site.”
If you want to watch Hulu with Live TV outside of the US, you won’t be able to do so on your Apple TV, Chromecast, PS4, Roku, XBOX, and most smart TVs.
That’s as they don’t support VPN services at all.
You could, in theory, install a VPN on your router to make Hulu work on these, but if you want to Live TV, that’s not an option as most routers aren’t going to be able to handle VPN services. That’s why we highly recommend that you get one of the Amazon Fire TV devices or otherwise a TV with Android.
To watch Hulu with Live TV outside of the US, follow these steps:
If asked, update your payment details.
For most people, we do not recommend Hulu with Live TV, whether in the US or outside of it. You can get a bunch of services that will be of far more value to you for that price.
If you really want to watch Hulu with Live TV outside of the US though, that is an option with PrivateVPN and an American card. Otherwise, check out our blog for guides about how to unblock other services.
