CBS has some of the best TV shows out there. The catch? That it’s not currently possible to watch CBS in Ireland, just as is the case in many other countries around the world whether you are in the UK or Sweden.
Luckily it is possible to watch CBS in Ireland if you know the right steps. And there’s only really 2 of them.
If you want to watch CBS in Ireland, you will need to get Paramount+ which used to be called CBS All-Access. In Ireland that is not currently possible because CBS knows that you are in Ireland. Step 1 involves making CBS think you are in the US.
Regarding step 2, it’s all about creating a CBS account which isn’t as simple as it normally tends to be, as it requires an American issued card, but we do also have a simple solution for this problem.
...Okay, how about we get started.
For CBS to work in Ireland, you must simply look like you are in the US.
There’s no other way around it, other than actually traveling to the US.
How do you look like you are in the US when in reality in Ireland?
By changing your virtual location to be in the US.
And that’s where VPN services come in as tools that allow for that.
Is it as simple as getting a VPN and connecting to an American server?
Not quite.
Platforms like CBS need to make efforts against VPN services to not break their agreements, meaning most VPN services end up not working with platforms like CBS.
PrivateVPN? It’s not a service that is going to blow you away with the quantity of servers it offers around the world. That’s because instead of offering thousands of servers, it focuses on quality and making sure services like Paramount+ or the likes of Hulu work, around the world.
Perhaps that’s why vpnMentor, a VPN comparison site, ranks PrivateVPN in the top 4 VPNs out of 290 VPNs tested.
...If you already have a CBS account you can already start watching.
Still need one? Here’s a simple solution⬇️.
One of the ways that CBS prevents people from outside of the US from signing up involves verifying their method of payment.
...For example, if you are in Ireland and don’t have an American card, you won’t be able to pay for a subscription.
In the past we talked about many ways of solving that issue, but without a doubt the simplest one consists of signing up directly from a mobile device.
Why?
As while CBS verifies payment methods on their website, on mobile devices it’s both Google and Apple that take care of it. Neither of these companies use such methods of verification.
...The catch?
To sign up in the first place, you first need to download the app which won’t be available unless your CBS region is set to be in the US.
If you wish, sign back into your older account after you create a CBS account.
This is a slightly tricky topic simply because neither most smart TVs nor platforms like Apple TV, Chromecast, or Roku support VPN services.
We do however have two simple solutions to that problem.
Regarding an Amazon Fire TV Stick, if you just acquired one, simply select for your region to be the US.
...If you already have one, then to download the Paramount+ app, you will need to change your region.
To do that:
The best thing about this CBS Ireland guide?
The steps towards unblocking almost all other streaming services are identical, whether you want to unblock Hulu, ESPN+, or BBC iPlayer.

Disclaimer: While PrivateVPN supports CBS and has done so for a long time, due to the nature of streaming services having to take efforts against VPN services, it cannot guarantee non-stop 100% of the time support, at all given times.
