Disney+ recently launched in the US and few other countries, but the UK isn’t one of those. If you currently want to watch Disney Plus in the UK, you’ll have to fool Disney into thinking that you are in a supported region, and we’ll walk you through how to do it in this guide.
This method will also work with other platforms that Disney owns, such as ESPN+ and Hulu.
Fooling Disney Plus into thinking that you are in the right region is the easiest part of this guide, but also the most important part as this step needs to be in motion at all times when you try to watch Disney Plus in the UK.
Fooling Disney Plus requires 2 things:
How do you connect to a different region virtually in the first place?
By using a VPN.
PrivateVPN offers a 7-day trial so that you can try out Disney+ for yourself, risk-free, and both has servers in Disney Plus regions but even more importantly works with Disney Plus which is why we are writing this guide about how to watch Disney Plus in the UK, in the first place.
We don’t even ask for a card. Just provide your email and password, and you are good to go.
Our app, while giving you the ability to sign into Disney Plus servers, will also allow you to connect to the likes of Hulu, ESPN+, American Netflix, Hotstar, and many more which you can see by looking at the picture we provided or can read about on our blog.
Except, when it comes to watching Disney+ in the UK, it’s not as simple because Disney has an extra layer of protection to make sure people don’t use it in unsupported countries.
What is it? It’s the need for an American card. (Luckily, there’s an easy solution.)
In most other places, creating a Disney+ account would be hard, but the fact that you are in the UK makes this easy.
Why? As BUNQ, a bank from the Netherlands that works with Disney Plus, exists.
This method also works in most areas in Europe and is the option that we recommend as it’s by far the easiest to implement.
Just sign up, which is much easier than with traditional banks as it only takes a few minutes, and you are ready to go.
...Then just select BUNQ as a method of payment on Disney and scan a code with your phone. Just like that, you will have a Disney Plus account.
However, you need to make sure that you are connected to our Netherlands server if using BUNQ.
You do, however, need to have a premium account of BUNQ as their free one doesn’t give you the abilities required to get Disney Plus. But you can just get Disney Plus for a full year, and then can cancel your BUNQ membership.
As far as the alternatives?
With some searches on Google, you should be able to find a card issued in the US. But neither of the options will be as safe or as trustworthy as Revolut, which is certified as a bank in Europe.
An American card combined with PrivateVPN? You’ll be able to watch Disney Plus in the UK, but you might also want to download the Disney Plus app.
We’ll walk you through that now.
Just make sure not to change the region of your current account and to create a new one. Otherwise, you will lose everything.
Alternatively, search for "Disney Plus .apk" on the internet and install it from a trusted source.
The problem with watching Disney Plus in the UK on the big screen is that, unfortunately, most smart TVs and platforms do not support VPN services.
Those include Apple TV, Chromecast, and Roku devices.
The best solution? To get an Amazon Fire TV device that does support VPN services. Alternatively, you can install a VPN on a router, but we don’t recommend that as most routers aren’t able to handle VPN services.
Here’s how to watch Disney Plus in the UK on your TV using Amazon Fire TV Stick devices:
Disney Plus is already in places such as Canada and Australia and is going to launch in the UK soon.
But until then, this is the best way to get Disney Plus in the UK.
On our blog, we have many other guides about services that can be unblocked with the help of PrivateVPN if you don’t just want to unblock Disney Plus in the UK.
Bonus tip: By just connecting to a US American Netflix server with PrivateVPN, you can right away watch American Netflix.
Simple, huh?

Disclaimer: While PrivateVPN supports Disney Plus in the UK and worldwide from launch, due to the nature of services like Disney making efforts to prevent VPN services from working, just like any other VPN service, we cannot guarantee that Disney+ will work at all given times.
